"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
Jeremiah 29:11
Discernment Gatherings (listening to God)
Over the Spring and Summer months (2026), we have been meeting to discern what plans God has for All Saints. This has taken us on a journey, where we have prayerfully pondered mission, values, vision and planning:
Our Mission Statement (the reason All Saints exists)
Our Mission Statement, which is based on the Great Commission, is:
This church exists to love God and invite everyone to know God.
Our Mission Values (our core principles, beliefs, and standards that guide, shape and direct us)
Current Values are: community building, stewardship, welcoming, preaching and teaching.
Our Aspirational Values are: a focus on children and families, and telling everyone the Good News.
Our Vision (what we believe God is calling us to become in 12 months’ time)
A church alive is worth the drive!
We want to grow our church younger, reaching out to families and children. We go into school regularly and we are starting Bubble Church and a new Family service. We hope the impact of this will be the noise and laughter of children as we explore God’s love together.
We want to be a place where everyone encounters Jesus. In all our services, we want to build in spaces for us to hear from God. We hope the impact of this will deepen our faith and help us to follow Jesus in our daily lives.
We want to play our part in pastorally caring for people in Newton. We hold monthly coffee mornings and other social and musical activities. We hope the impact of this will be less lonely people in Newton and stronger connections.
We want to be a place of belonging for all. We open our church daily, enabling people of all faiths and none to come in to pray and to be still. We hope the impact of this will be a church built on God’s unconditional love.
Our Priority Goals for this year (2026-27)
Create a new worshipping community for children and families at Linton Village Hall.
Develop a new worship service for Week 1 Sundays that will be accessible to children and families, and unchurched people.
